SX3 meet fast track USB

Maybe I'm being an idiot or maybe they just don't work but I can't seem to get my Cubase SX3 to recognise my M-audio fast track USB.

I know the fast track is only entry level and I do have M-audio sessions software that it works with already, but I've installed the latest drivers for it but still can't seem to ge the two working together.

I use a pretty poor HP nc4010 laptop running XP adn I've tried all the usual tricks. Any thoughts anybody?
 
Make sure that the M-Audio device is not plugged in when you install the drivers. You may have to remove the driver and start again.
Also, be sure to match the driver to your current OS service package.
Then check your bit and sample rates in Cubase.
If your settings are outside of the M-Audio USB parameters then it probably won't recognize your device as an option.
Just a guess on the last part but make sure you're set to 16/44.1 to start with.
