right now I'll go for SX. But if you can wait a few more weeks/month and get Nuendo 2, I'm pretty sure you wont regret it!

And if yuo want to buy the software right now, then I'll suggest SX.

I was using Nuendo, and when SX came out, I moved to it. But i'm pretty sure thant when Nuendo 2 will came out, I'll get back to Nuendo :)

You may want to poke around at the Steinberg site and see the differences. As you probably already know from the price, Nuendo is more expensive, and is Steinbergs most professional product, one being used by many recording and production facilities around the world. That being said, it all depends on what you are trying to do. SX is an incredible program that will do more than almost any home recording person would need to do.

It's kinda like saying "I need to drive to school in the morning, what's better for me, a Corvette, or a Ferreri?"

If you let us know what your doing you will probably get better and more useful replys.

My general impression, being an SX user who has never laid eyes on Nuendo, is that Nuendo is geared more towards post-production, video sound, and surround.

My guess is that SX will do all that you need it to do, and with class. I believe Nuendo also has some fancy hardware that you can get that might not work as well with SX, but, again I'm not entirely sure.

I've recorded entire projects in SX. I've mastered projects in SX. I haven't actually scored a video, but played around with it some and it seems easily doable.

Why spend a chunk on Nuendo if you don't need to? Having extra money around NEVER goes out of style and you might want to save a bit of it.

That from experience. I got divorced (yeay!) and my dad died (shit!) and less than 2 months later my mic collection had more than doubled... I don't regret it because I love my mics, but... I have the haunting feeling I could have handled the money more wisely.

Dad did the same thing, too, when his mom died. I think its natural.

My condolences.

Chris
