Ok, I have an issue getting my sustain pedal to work. First, let me say that I am new to MIDI hooplah, and everyone on the internet assumes that everyone else already knows all of the lingo and basics to get things working. I am a 100% noob to this sort of thing, so keep that in mind please.
I have a Roland Alpha Juno 2 that I am using to play some of Ableton's preset instruments. Mainly piano.
I have my M-Audio SP-2 sustain pedal hooked up to the the Juno 2, then a MIDI to USB interface running to my laptop running Ableton Live 8.something.something.
Whenever I press the sustain pedal, it typically does nothing; however, it does play cause a random chord to play from time to time. I know I have the polarity correct with the sustain pedal, but I just can't get it to work in live. It is sending MIDI data and Live is receiving it, but it doesn't seem to do anything with it.
I traced the MIDI signal and it is sending the correct CC64 signal to Live, and again, Live recognizes this, as I traced this signal in Live.
I have the MIDI Hold setting to on within the Juno itself.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I have a gig next Friday and I would hate to have to use my buddy's 49-key cheapo controller.
For reference, I am using the Keys - Grand Hall preset in Ableton.
Thanks in advance.
