Hehe... come on :) I just plugged and went ..no knob tinkering

Hows the vocals on blue moon coming?

I just listened to 'chill'.. I'm not sure if that was posted before or not, but that was real sweet..

I did try some singing over 'Blue Moon' :D It kinda reminded me of 'Sea of Love' when I started laying it down.. I thought of something else but havent tried it yet...I hope you dont mind, I just felt that tune so much that some vocal ideas hit me. I can send you a p.m. when I do it and I'll send you the results if you want... I dont want to ruin it, so if it sounds really bad, I will just leave it alone.

thanks

'surf'

That was fun. Quite a departure from the other tunes you have posted. I'd say you must have had quite a bit of tension to relieve.... ;)

The tone wasn't great, but the playing was spot on and fun.

I always wondered why bands like REO Speedwagon got lucky and made it, when I listen to jammin' like this.

I suppose you're feelin' better now!!

I love it....."bang on the drum...."

I've been trying to learn to play "Surfing" lately and you do a fine job on the guitar. If you wanted some suggestions on doing a good cover here goes:

1. The drums are very close to what Satriani uses on the album -- of course the drums are the weak-point on that album. Punch up the drums a little more and see if you can make them serve a purpose! :-)

2. The guitar tone for this song is crucial. Spend some time doing that knob twiddling.

Have fun!

Cool version of a satch Classic! You didnt record this because I stated that your music help me quiet down did you?!:DI really like all of your tunes!

You can certainly wiggle yo fingers! Fun version of the song and I didn't mind the tone for the genre. Considering you have one hour into this, its pretty amazing...

Wow. That was great fun! I especially love how you sneak in snippets from a couple of Joe's other songs.

Nice work.

I liked the little "Midnight" transition and then back into the Alien jam.

I thought Id sneak a couple of satchs other songs for fun in there.... :) theres plenty of mistakes in there but what the heck ... it was in all good fun.

im glad ya guys liked.

back to recording..... :)

ive been doing it soo much ... I think my ears are bleeding

Surfing with the Alien didnt work, it said the server couldnt find the file or something, so I listened to blue moon, Very chill song, nothing else can describe it. Bass drum is perfect, and the little bongo thing is so cool.

A question for you, what exactly is that stuff in the beggining, I've heard it in so many songs but could never figure it out, is it like some weird keyboard sound, or some kind of reverb trick?

Hope this is not an industry secret, LOL

Eric

Surfing was a fun song. Well done. Nice playing. I really liked the tone on the guitars.

The lyrics were inspiring too. :D

Jeff,

I liked the Satriani tune, it was quite startling after listening to "Every Breath You Take" and the others... you reminded me that I've been wanting to incorporate the Budda Bud-Wah pedal I got last year into a number...

You play very well, and I like your material, though I have to admit that your soft stuff is a little too -- pillowy? -- for my taste. That said, "Blue Moon" is quite nice. (I was expecting a cover of the old chestnut of the same title.) The drum track, though, is very drum-machiney -- I think the song would benefit hugely from the breath of real drums, or else some time spent on making the drum samples sound more like they were played by a real drummer.

"Chill" has some really nice ideas too... I look forward to hearing the next draft...

I like it. Very Nice. Guess I shouldn't quit my day job.

Jeff,

Great job on Alien; you got some chops, dude! The only negative thing I can say about it is I think there needed to be more distortion on the rhythm. The lead tone sounded ok to me.

I also listenned to "Blue Moon." I realy like it; I'm going to keep that one on my hard drive. The drums could be better as mentioned, but they still work and it's a fine tune.
