Question time, I was talking to a good guitar repairman a few days ago and we were discussing a fret job I am doing, I mentioned that I would be helping the frets in this particular guitar stay down by using super glue. He made the statement that super glue damages rosewood fret boards, I know it hasn't hurt my maple strat. as I used it about 10 years ago and it's still ok.
Anyone throw any light on this?

a guitar tech I once brought my rosewood-neck Gibson LP to secured the frets down with CA super glue. I sure hope it isn't detrimental. I understand it will take a heat gun to get them off, but I'll be bringing it to the same guy soon for new frets.

If you mean CA glue, this guy has been using it for years so I would have to say the claim is false provided it is used correctly. Rosewood it very porous so it's probably easy to ruin if misused

Thanks,
You just reinforced my thoughts, I have seen it used in Stewmac publications too.
