I have a Yamaha keyboard with midi and a computer. I cannot operate musical instruments with keys, but I can operate a computer with a keyboard. I cannot read music but, I can type the word "Am" and play it on a guitar (but not a keyboard)... So...

I want to program the Yamaha keyboard to play songs that I write using English or Guitar Tablature rather than Musical Notation. I want this so that I can record keyboards to my multitracker without actually having to play them myself. Can I? I have a few MIDI editors but I can't read music so its pretty much guess-work right now and it sucks.

Please tell me about some miraculous hard/software that will allow me to do this.

Thanks, you are all beautiful.

I never read musical notation myself either, nor tablature... :p I use Cakewalk (SONAR) and thank God there's "Piano Roll View" to let you insert notes one by one into the "time line style", anyway what software do you have? Does it have that "Piano Roll View" ?

I think you want to try PG Music's Band in a Box.

This software allows you to enter chord symbols and get results like you asked for.

Groovy. I'll look into these softwares. In the meantime, are there any freeware or shareware besides Jazz and Anvil? And what can I do with Jazz or Anvil?
