I'm new here, so don't know what this was like before.
Really nice guitar solos. Your voice is nice and laid back, but with a little edge to it, and goes perfectly with the song. A pleasure to listen.
My only criticism is, to my taste, it has more reverb than it needs.

BTW, is there any way to stream with a dialup connection off your site? The only way I could listen was download it, which takes forever. But worth it :)

Thanks for the compliments! I know what you mean about reverb; it is a little thick. This is one of the first songs I've done that has reverb, echo and chorus all mixed up; learning curve stuff. You should have heard the first tunes I posted; I hadn't learned how to mute yet! I thought it was cool at the time (well, all this stuff is cool) but it makes me cringe today. And that was only a few months ago. Jeez, I love this stuff.

Artist Launch allows streaming on any or all of the selections (look for the blue icon). Top left of the list is a "stream all songs" icon that will let loose on each one in turn.

I'm just learning n-track (watch for it on the BBS; we have a forum on the program) and my songs are inefficiently mixed; I haven't yet moved to destructive editing which means that data from muted portions of perhaps 9 or 10 tracks is included. They're big files. So as I learn a little more, I expect them to shrink. The other thing is that I encode them at 320 KBS, simply because it is a higher quality signal. Again, the file that results has more stuff in it, so a 56 KB modem link might stumble with streaming. Chalk it up to my inexperience.

A.L. sometimes trips up on usage or some other parameter, and streaming gets all messed up with any connection. So I'm experimenting with NoWhere radio - a pretty high performance alternative. It may give you less trouble. The tune is up at :

I was getting a phasing/flanging sound on the acoustic...it might have been the mp3/streaming stuff....I get that sometimes at MP3.com playing stuff. But it wasn't on the vocals, so I suspect it was recorded that way. I think the acoustic also sounds a little distant sounding... Removing half of the effect would probably sound a little more realistic and on the better side...at least to me.
A little tough to concentrate on what you are singing too. The solo guitar seems enriched with a healthy dose of chorus too. I'm a "heavy on the effects man" myself...so I know the urge..

Nice tune you've written!!. I really like the tone of your git(what are you pickin'?, if you're pickin' what is in the picture, it looks like a Taylor) I think you could go a little more natural, especially on the solo git. You've a nice rich voice but it gets a tad muffled in the mix. Maybe clarify it somehow i.e. less effect, toying with e.q. The mix was loud but not in clipped or even bad way, just noticable. That acoustic tone is sweet!! The song is smooth like milk weed blossoms. Glad you threw it on Nowhere so I could stream it. Post more please!

Well, the chorus is laid on a little thick; I'm trying to see what this stuff does. I agree that less would is better here, but it sure did warm up a sterile mix.

The other thing I'm fooling with is splitting tracks. There are three recorded tracks; a rhythm guitar, vocal, and lead. Each track was cloned and panned differently from it's counterpart, allowing me to experiment with effects on guitar here that aren't there and so forth. Six tracks in all. Basic, but confusing enough so I'm going to have to start keeping track sheets to remember what I did last week. :p

The guitar is an older Taylor 815c with a b-band internal condenser setup, recorded direct to the board. It's like an '68 Chevelle ss396; goes like hell but is a bit of a handful on a stage.:D
