Listening now .... very sweet. I'm thinking of sitting under a shady tree on a perfect day ? well that's the musical image I get. Very relaxing.

Strings would sound nice with this.

My only gripe is it's a little too dynamic in places.

Great song

PS playing your song sent my computer to sleep ! ;) actually it just got overloaded I think

Damn it. I feel guilty listening to your stuff for free Erland.

This is a beautifull song, nicely recorded. The kind of music that makes me just wanna close my eyes and get lost in it.

Your a gifted musician, keep these songs coming. Maybe someday I'll be running to the local music store to grab that Erland disc I've been waiting for. :D

Eyes glazed...mind clouded....

This is great....

Don't change anything....

Ok sorry I was overwhelmed.

I guess the vocals could use some volume control.

Thanks for a great song.

You could almost say you need a better guitar...new strings, whatever.....but then the song "feel" would change. I'd bet it would probably be better with a better instrument, but I'd have to hear it first to make that decision.

That was a weird comment:p

I always like adding a little "hall reverb" to your stuff when I listen to it.

I can actually envision all kinds of stuff with this tune... unlike most of the other tunes I listen to here in the clinic. I can hear female vocal additions, unusual instrumentation, full band accompianment, solo 'in the park...the birds are singing' presentation... solo instruments from pan flutes to sitars to mandos to whatever you can think of. It seems it ALL would lend. Or..as many here would prefer...just as it is. Unusual that your tunes allow for such a thing. It seems I can hear 3 or 4 different versions/styles of your songs (at least) when I hear them. Makes MY creative juices flow when I listen to YOUR music. Kinda inspirational, eh??

(but you'll never get me to say " just a wee bit!!!!!)

I do hear some low end rumbling go on...as that being the biggest recording flaw this time around... but not too bad.

Checking out Paris--what can I say? Your music reminds me what it means to be alive and to be human. Amazing. Dug the lyrics too--you've been working on that aspect, yes? Nice!

OK. Now, Introduce--cool! I wanted more for sure. Too short, but whats there is great.

Born Again--What a brilliant idea for a song! Again, the lyrics are phenomenal. You are digging deeper and its showing. This is one of the best songs I've heard IN MY LIFE, Coop.

I end up just wanting to cry, because your writing is so personal/universal and so damn good. I've been trying to write for 40 years and what flows from you is better than anything I've ever done, even in my peak moments.

I must confess, it slightly pisses me off! Not that you are so good compared to me, but that you don't seem to desire to find a way to share this music with the world. Natural hit songwriter, tours the world, studying god knows what. I guess thats your right and all. Who am I to measure the soul of another human being and the intentions that lie within? All I am saying is that you could move the world with your vision. Even if you won't try, I still love you and walk away feeling like I have been in the presence of genius--touched deeply by the soul of another human being. Whatever you do, keep writing and growing as you have been. And take me with a grain of salt. Its just that if you can't find an audience for your music, then there is no hope for any of us. God bless you.

Anything said after Crawdad's post seems redundant..
But I really like the vocals. That makes it really stand out. Excellent performance and excellent recorded.
This one is going into my homerec keepers folder.

uhm.. yeah i thought it was really good too. no mix comments just thought id give props where props be due

I actually logged on tonight to see if you've posted any new stuff Erland..I was wrapped to see your name under the "topic starter" column!!..What can I say, as every other one of yours...great....
What FX do you use on vocals if you don't mind me asking..
Thanks.....living legend
Good luck travelling and writing...

Now this is something to really look forward to. A whole summer full of music from you inspired by your travels. I will definitely stay tuned for that.

As for your ambitions, I read the suggestions for going pro with mixed emotions. We've all seen what that can do to an artist, and I'd hate to see that happen to you.

Your music is yours first, and it's for you first. That you choose to share it with us here is our good fortune!

I agree with Crawdad...

you gotta get your stuff out there for the whole planet to enjoy.

If you lived in the States, I would already have your demo recorded and we'd be shoppin' it around. (I'd be your agent, of course. ;) :D)

Seriously, though... as soon as you can, you gotta get out there and get some exposure. Even your "worst" stuff is easy to listen to.

I can't hear the drums, nor the bass. And I loathe songs with 'pah-pah-pah' in it....and I'm getting sick and tired of that ploinking country & western guitar crap you're playing all the time! On top of that: your music sounds gay.

:D

Er-FUCKIN'-land! You did it again. You're the absolute master of the delicate song! (followed closely by Dobro and Count Jagular). I love it'!

I'd love to hear some other instruments than just your guitar and voice sometimes though...but I know that's too much to ask. ;)

Erland, I listened to your songs and loved em all:D Well played and adequately recorded. I know they are performed and recorded with limited resources so are they as good as they can be, in the circumstances? Yes, of course they are:) Your songwriting has really come on leaps and bounds too and your phrasing in your vocals.

I see you as a solo performer alla David Gray.

Well done, let me know when you get your album together. I'll buy it:D

I just keep seeing all these sheep singing when your singing babababa... ;) I'm high and it made me laugh out loud. :D

I see that this tune has been picked apart so I'll just agree with two main things...The little guitar imperfections and the vox vol control. This is a goos song maybe a tad too long(one or two less sheep choruses).Nice harmonies and you got a great ,full-on sound.

Such an expressive voice, wow, wish I could sign like this. Or at all, for that matter.

You know what my mind heard? Not "strings" in the conventional sense, but an actual string quartet, with cello emphasis.

It's a delightful piece, really. I always seem to love your work though. The guitar is a little but muffly, but others here accurately surmised that changing much might alter the feel beyond what would be acceptable. But, a string quartet layerd over it would brighten it sufficiently.

SWEET piece man, really!!! Love it!

Cheers!

Did I understand you correctly? Your traveling AND recording? What's your set up? Laptop? Portastudio?

No complaints on this one. Sounded very nice.

Strings would sound good. An accordian or even a harmonica (bit of a stretch) would sound equally as good. They would certainly give this song a different feel than strings.

Enjoyed it - looking forward to your next "city".

Erland, your music is touching beyond the average home recorders fake band in a box (or two) type music.

My girlfrind wants to buy a CD right now...got a link?

"Don't wake me up til we've danced through Paris,
Don't wake me up til I've danced with you"

What brilliant lyrics. Makes me feel sooooooo ordinary:(

"You gotta wake up to yourself because you are born again"

Great concept, brilliant lyrics, super song. What else can I say? If I remember correctly Erland, you are just using a small portastudio or similar?

Like Jake-awa and his GF, my wife and I want your CD;)
