Hi folks,
Just looking for a little advice?
I currently use the beginner setup Pro Tools SE with the Avid keystudio and have enjoyed it for the most part for the past 6 months or so.
Am looking to step up a notch or two and am considering Pro Tools 8 or possibly 9 for software; I've been told that there are no sonic differences between 8 and 9. I do plan to stick with Pro Tools.
The keystudio comes with the Avid USB micro interface, mini plugs and all, and I've been looking at the MBox 3 Pro and the digi 003 + rack for interfaces. I did have one person suggest a MOTU traveler mk3 instead of the 003.
I use Windows 7-64, and have a good quad core processor, but might have to add a firewire card.
So far I've only used a couple inputs at a time, but see where I might use up to 6-8 inputs for recording in the future.
Spouse is a teacher and I see where I could get the MBox 3 Pro and PT9 for around $750.
Any suggestions? Anyone know which of those interfaces has the best mic preamps? I do a good bit of vocal stuff.
Thanks!
DT
