Hey there everybody. We just added a new tune entitled, "Sugar Denied". Go check it out! We'd love the feedback! I've been coming here for a lil' bit now as a solo dude, Tony Nash...But finally got a band.

I read this board a lot. Now, the recording a mixing is all put on my shoulders and everyone in the band has an opinion and this drove me crazy every time we record...but I did my best...No compressors or anything fancy at my disposal so I did the best I could being self taught with all this stuff.

Thanks though...

I like the guitar tone. It sounds like the guitarist wrote the song.

Vox can come up. a little in the mix, I think.

How was this recorded?

When I try to play it, it says 'loading error'...?

Thanks man...I'm the guitarist btw, haha. I recorded into my fostex 8 track and my 4 track mixer.

Just keep trying it Bulls hit.

Feedback please??!!?!?!?!????

*cough*...

I have connections to get this on a local classic rock station...I brought it in to be analyzed by the guy who is putting it on...he said I am very close production wise but need to get the drums recorded a lil better and have the vocals turned up a bit more...I am trying all this tonight....Guitar and bass are fine.

Any pointers?

I am doing the best with what I got and he said it was amazing what I got already....if that means anything.

Thanks guys.

The song sounds pretty good.

Raise the voxby 3-5db and may be EQ up a little around 3kHz.

The drums sounds good but the snare sounds a little 70s. Sounds verby. And not crisp enough.

Yeah thanks man. I am trying some new stuff on the drums now. MIcplacement. I only got 4 mics, haha. Maybe the 70's sounds suits us well...he, he.

Well I didn't think it was gonna, but it finally started up for me.

Everything is played really well, your drummer is good.

The snare sound needs to be brightened. Try some eq on it or dial in more overheads. You could also copy the snare track and compress the bejesus out of it with a fast release and blend it in.

Same with the vox. They sound good but they're a too dull and too far back, Compress and bring them up in the mix.

Good tune

Sounds like Black Crowes meet Chiil Peppers.
The Huh in the intro is TOOOOOO RHCP for me.
The riff is really nice. the voice needs to come up and the bass needs volume & DEFINITION - not too bad during the solo but a bit anonymous otherwise.
The guitar tone is pretty good but sounds like it'd be much fatter live - is it?
Given the recording/mixing format the drum mix is great, the other instruments seem nowhere in particular in the stereo image.
Nice work.

Thanks for the info guys! I don't have any compression so thats not an option. I worked on the drum sounds last night. I think i got it a lot better. we will see in a few days i guess...
