put a Desert Rose Elite Z submerged wood bridge on my banjo and it kicks booty now. Fretted notes sound like open strings now, and the whole neck has a nice "pang" sound to it. Amazing what a small piece of wood can do.... Supposedly guarenteed to be a couple hundred years old. (and found in the bottom of some northern waterway...like Lake Superior)
Highly recommended over cheapie stock "Grover" style bridges. Also, the need for a compensated bridge didn't seem nec. either.
