is there anything you have to do before you shut-off the fd-8? i've used roland digital multi-tracks, and there was always a shutdown process. i can't find anything in the fd-8 manual about this!

i am using an external scsi hard drive. should i turn the drive on, then the fd-8, or the other way around?

if you can answer these stupid questions for me, i'd love you forever.

i hore that i can help

hi!

for one thing i don't use the fd-8 but i do use the vf-16.
i would not think that there would be a shut down process.
espacialy if the book don't have any thing to say about it.
and about turning it on..... i would turn the recorder on first.
if you have any more prom. e-mail me at rainrecords1@yahoo.com and i will try to help you!

good luck

hi

On page 5 of the manual it says " To prevent damage to the FD-8, be sure to power on the connected devices first, then turn on the power to the FD-8.

This sort of make sense --- if the devices aren't on when you boot up the FD-8, it can't identify them.

Good Luck
