What's this button do?
Just bought a new 1x12 cab and Relic 30 speaker, stupid question...

When wiring up the Switchcraft 1/4 in jack, which is + and which is - ?

It has 3 connections on it, I assume for tip/ring/sleeve.

Thanks all,

Pete

Have you got a multimeter with a continuity checker or a ohm meter on it? That would be your best way to be sure, and easier than trying to explain as I need to get going very soon for an evening class....

Nope. Sorry.

Jack has three posts, one for tip, one for ring, one for sleeve. I am pretty sure I don't need ring, so I just need to know if tip is positive or if sleeve is positive.

I can always hook it up and have it be out of phase and fix it, I just don't want to do it twice.

Tip is positive and sleeve is negative.

With only one speaker, it doesn't really matter.

Thanks Farview. Seemed easy to me, just wanted to make sure.

you sure its a stereo connection...if not then you don't want to use a trs cable...you want to use a mono cabe...like that of a guitar plug....i assume it is unbalanced (mono) seeing as how its a on speaker cab....but yes trs will work
