Heres the deal...

I got a decent computer.. runs what i want.. how i want...

I got FL Studio.. top audio production software in my opinion...

I gotta mic and a recording interface im good there...

I gota 1000 watt stereo hooked up to the pc to play my tracks. However, the sub i got connected is shit. Doesnt even output low frequencys after im below the key A4... So its very hard gettin the bass to sound right... And the stereo is old ive had it for a long time so im up for gettin rid of it for something better...

So my question is what do i purchase next to get my studio up and goin a little more?

Should I get a new woofer to reproduce the low frequency a little better? Should I buy a completely new stereo system (possibly a car stereo system)? Or should i suck it up and go for something diff? like a keyboard?

So yea Im confused about what i want whatchu guys think??

get Monitors(Studio)..period end of story..

To do it right, you need to do this: (IMO)

1. Flat, accurate monitors. (i.e., monitors designed for the studio, not for the club. Think Event 20/20's, Yamaha NS-10m, etc...) Flat=good. Hyped=bad

2. Un-hyped monitor reference amp. The home-stereo with settings for 'club, theater, stadium, etc..' won't do.

3. Once you've got those, analyze your room, find the problem spots, and fix them. There's a bunch of info out there for this - do a few searches for more detail.

After doing this, you'll hear what you need to mix correctly, and your mixes will translate extremely well.

Also agree, treat where your recording at, and if possible, isolate yourself. Get some good monitors, at least something like the M-Audio BX8a's or something. Maybe get a tube preamp to give that warm sound to it. Also you can probably get a parametric EQ or at least have one that's a plug-in. Preferably more outboard gear. Get a SPL meter too, so that you can mix at around 85dB and not too low where you might add some bass or treble because you couldn't hear it as much. Get a great compressor like the LA2A - http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LA2A/ or the Fatman compressors.
If your serious about this music thing, I would start purchasing the best of the best, or damn near the best. Spend that money on quality products you know? Also I suggest the TLM 193, I like that mic.

aight guys i think i kno what ima do, thanks for the advice... as always
