Anyone have this desk? If you have it, do you ever regret not getting the $499 one?

City wide rummage/garage sale is next weekend, and I have been thinking about trying to sell my main "wally world special" desk at the garage sale and then taking that money and the money from the rest of our sale to Guitar Center and pick one up. I guess for $199 I shouldn't expect it to be one of these: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Recording/Misc?sku=548081 But it is good enuff? Yes? No?

And will guitar center also give you the furman that MF gives you? I know I should just call them, just wondering if anyone has bought one lately from GC?

I looked at that desk and didnt like the fact that it didnt have a keyboard pullout, etc. So i ended up getting the smaller $99 version.

And if I ever have enough money to get enough gear to fill up the $400 desk, then i should have enough money to buy the desk as well!!

I'd get the bigger one if I had to do it again. I'm putting a keyboard/mouse tray in I got from Frys for 20 bucks, so it's not a big deal. Biggest problem is lack of rackspace. Get some kind of drawers/bins for underneath or you'll waste a lot of space with the footprint. Otherwise I like the desk.

No guitar center don't give you the Furman like MF does. my space is tight, so I ended up getting the $99 one as well. The place where you put the speakers wasn't to big, but it holds my StudioPro's easily.... I guess it depends on your application & set up. I personally would use the Studio RTA as a production set up, exactly like how MF's pictures show it as... I wouldn't put a computer set up on it so I wouldn't need a keyboard slot...

My current desk has a place for a keyboard/mouse slide out shelf, and I don't use it becuase my knees are to high, so even if I got 499 one I might have to ditch the shelf anyway. And the plan is for dual monitors....I think the 199 one is just big enough for my warf 8.2s and two computer monitors. I really need to measure my set up, just is I freaking lost my tape measure last week, it was here, then it wasn't here, lol.

I'm writing from that desk right now. It's pretty solid and well designed.
Some of the trim is like contact paper, though. Keeps wanting to come off.

I've seen some pretty solid desks at Staples and Office Depot that look as good and for less dollars...with keyboard trays.

Check 'em out.

i bought the $499 one, and love it. dont think i could have worked with that smaller one. its very small too... as in im a pretty big person, and its just not even comfortable. i tried it and it was too low to the ground actually. it felt like a kiddy desk.

I wondered about that when I seen the dimentions. Looks very low. I wonder if there is someting else that is reasonable in price that i can fit my legs under?
