The complaint I had with the C1 (and there weren't many) was when vocals went from smooth talk/sing sort of vocals to yelling, screaming or anything where a lot of distorted signal happened from the singer. I had to switch to a dynamic (actually had a two mic set up with one band telling the guy "talk into this one, yell into this one.") I assume a tube mic would be more forgiving with this and I'll find out in a couple days when I get my Ruassian made Oktava tube mic, but go on ebay, for $150 with a case and a shock mount, you can't beat it. Just consider getting a pop filter as opposed to the muff that comes with it.
cheers,
scott
