Thanks for the pics. The one on the left looks like the Cascade M20, capsule and all. Looks like the V67's circuit's pretty much the same, but the capsule (at least the underneath side) is different. What's up with that? Is it a different capsule?alanhyatt said:

I believe one of the major differences in the sound of the V67 (aside from the grill construction) has to do with the output transformer.

Well, I have all sorts of mics, so pics are easy. In this case, the grille material is the same as the V67, only in a different color and a slight change in shape, however you can see how similar the designs are.
The transoformers of each unit has been ripped into, and are the same. In this case, the capsule is different and there are added electronics to allow for the pad and filter that the V67 does not have.
Again, when you take all of these apart and examine them very closely, the similarities are amazing, yet the tone differences are there to suit what ever you like.

FOR THE RECORD.
Way back when the shit was hitting the fan and Alan was continually in the firing line, one thing that was suggested by some people on numerous occasions, was that he should buy banner adverts here, that way he would be "legally" advertising and what he said in posts wouldn't be so easily interpreted as spam or SP promotion.
FACT.
Alan and at least two other high profile, prolific members here have all in the past approached the admin about banner adverts.................last I heard they had NEVER had a reply from Dragon.
I know Dragon was well aware of the "flaming" situation, and Alan wasn't the only individual that had been brought to Dragon's attention, BUT I also know that he felt that these people HAD NOT done anything to justify his intervention............his comment in email to me was to the effect that the balance between the amount of positive advice they provided to members and the amount of possible self promotion was way in favour of the former.
So please leave it all alone.

I have some pics of Behringer B1 and B2 mics, courtesy of Wilkee, and will be arranging locally to get an NT2 and maybe 1 or 2 other mics photographed in the next day or so.

Not photographed yet, but I can tell you that an Apex 430 is very similar to the JM and the V67 that Alan linked to.

I bought a V67g a few weeks ago. It took me at least a week to decide between it and the SP C1. I couldn't A/B the 2 because of my locale, I also read all of the post and I leaned towards the V67g mainly because Harvey had worked with it and could remember that it was pretty good for the price. If I recall correctly he was looking for his notes for Alan or something or maybe he just didnt get around to testing the SP. Based on what I read they were close sound wise. so:
I got the V67 (Because of Harvey and I liked the cheezy Green and Gold bit)
I was about to buy a C1 as well, but I will now move up on the SP product line and get something better and not as close to the Marshall V67. I want a V69 or 77, but since Alan is a frequent here, I will give him my $$. I dont think I would go wrong by going that route.
