Like I said, I hope that feakin' long message answered some questions or whatever...

RICHARD MONEROE: Hey thanks! It was a lot of typing, but i think it was actually kind of nice to see my process myself. I never really think about it and just do it.

RIOTSHIELD: What do you have for gear to record?

RUSTYFINGERS: Yeah, I know what your talking about doing another chorus. I was contemplating it, and still might do another version where I do another chorus, shorter guitar solo thingy and maybe another altered verse or change up somewhere. I'm trying to keep my songs short these days. I have a tendency to run on a bit too long.

ANTZ MARCHING: Does that little list help I provided earlier?

I know this got a bit off track from the mics...sorry. Let me know if there's any other feedback.

Thanks!

Wow, that's a pretty involved recording process. My set-up is pretty similar to yours except the DAW:

-SP B1 and Marshall MXL603S
-Audio Buddy
-Edirol UA-20 USB interface (also had the Audiophile 2496 for a while)
-My laptop for recording, my desktop for mixing down/adding effects running n-Track
-a '02 Taylor Big Baby and a Squier electric & bass w/a J-Station

I saved your song so I can use it as a reference next time I do a recording.

Yeah (and I hate to skip by the REAL subject, but) the threads on my B3 clips are tooooo big. I like the plumbers tape idea...thanks.

RIOTSHIELD:Your stuff sounds really similar to mine...um...this is what i've got...

-2 Shure SM58's
-1 MXL990
-1 Studio Projects B1

-1 Midiman Audio Buddy
-1 Behringer ULTRA-DYNE PRO
-1 Boss Dr. Rhythm

-1 Peavey...something or other (guitar amp used in a long time)
-1 Big Baby Taylor
-1 Epi piece of crap acoustic
-1 Ovation acoustic electric...this kind of sucks
-1 Borrowing friends Martin something or other (nice guitar...too boomy for good recording)
-1 Squier electric bass
-8-10 chords

How's that N-track? I've been using some primal Mac program that doesn't work well now and then.

Feel free to use the track...enjoy.

BODHISAN: Your right man, that freakin' clip is tooooo damn big I just don't want it stuck on my mic stand permenetly. ya know?

How's that

I know the B1 gets a lot of positive press here, and I'm behind it 100% (their mic clips leave a little to be desired, but that's another story). B]

Hey Robert, Good job on the recording. Since you did such a good job showing people how good the B1 really is ofr home recording, send me your address and I will send you a free B Series Shock Mount for your B1....

E-mail me at alan@pmiaudio.com with your address. Hell, its the least we can do for all that positive effort..

Alan that's great man! You're truly a good guy in my book. I even thought that before this too. You've always been great about answering questions, and you make some great mics too. You just got keep that temper under control better sometimes.

damn!

Sweet!

Thanks Alan! I shot you off an email. You rock!

Hey Thanks CALEB2438! As much as I'd dig a free mic (who wouldn't?), it would be pretty hard to give away a free mic to everyone who made a decent recording with one of their decent mics...but thanks!

done and done...I sent it off. hopefully it will help answer your questions.

wow that sounds great robert! i'm currently sellin my vs-880ex on ebay cuz I thought my vision was gonna go before i got the b*stard halfway mastered (damn miniature screen!). So I'm trading in for a PC setup...

Damn impressive work keep it up!

Robert, once again, I dig your music...its great!
May I keep this track?
I think I'm getting a B1 soon...I really like those sounds you got.

MRGROOVES666: Thanks! I'm glad you dig the tune!...and yeah! by all means keep the tune! I'm flattered. The B1's great. It's kind of become my go to mic. I think you'll appreciate it.

TROGDOR: Thanks again! I know what you mean about the VS-880ex. It's got a pretty brutal learning curve, but well worth it once you kinda figure it out. It's always kind of reminded my of using a computer without a monitor or key board...just a lot of buttons...
