Hello all.
I'm new on here, not that new to home studios.
I've always just winged it in the past when it came to studio layouts, but now I need some advice.
On moving house I've had to relocate my studio to the back corner of my lounge (London flats are SMALL!). I don't have any choice on it's location (I know corners are bad!) so really I'm after advice on how to arrange it all to make it as good as I can sound wise.
I have built an L-shaped desk in the corner. My 88key controller fits neatly under one desk, my Mac tower under the other. On the desk top I have 2 x powered monitors, 2 x 22" screens and a 1U soundcard.
I also have a 49-key controller and 2 launchpad midi pad controller I'd like to have permanently set up. Ideally I'd also like to build in a small rack unit. I only have 1U at the moment, but I'd like to add a few more pieces in the future - at minimum a channel strip/mic-pre unit.
I've included a rough diagram of how it's set up at the moment. If anyone has any tips on how to better use space and/or aid sound then I'd love to hear 'em...
