My walls are insolated, but i dont think they do a good job, do i still need studio foam even if i have insolated walls?

And if i do need acoustic foam stuff, is there another way to put it up other than adhesive?

Foam doesn't sound proof if that's what you're after. It's used for frequency absorption and taming echoes.
If you want to mount it without glue go to a fabric store and ask for T pins. They do a fine job holding foam to your walls.
One more suggestion - type Foam into the search function. You'll learn all about it.

haha no im not trying to sound proof im just trying to absorb some of the sound.

and thanks for the tpins idea that helps a lot!

But tkingen's point still stands. Just as acoustic foam is not for soundproofing, insulation behind sheet rock has nothing (or virtually nothing) to do with acoustic treatment.

The conventional wisdom is that studio foam will attenuate your high-end, but your low-end absorption will still need to be addressed, through bass traps.

A good way to attach it without the adhesive is pins. I purchased long silver pins at Staples in the bulletin board section. The are about 1.5" long and look like a "T" Two of them will hold a 24" x 24" piece of studio foam to a wall. The big advantage is that you can reposition or move a piece without the mess or damage to the foam or the wall.

It is such a simple solution but I must admit it took me two months to think of it. I was not willing to go the adhesive route.
