Here is a pic of my studio in progress.

The floor is plywood, but there is a central joist running the central length, which is supported in the middle with a cinder block constructed piling going into concrete footings. This should keep floor resonances tame, plus my builder is going to put a second layer of plywood on the floor. The outside dimensions are 16' X 23', so with the cinder block thickness, the interior dimensions are 14' 8" X 21' X 8".

Since this photo, the walls have gone up and are cinder blocks filled with sand. To keep sand leakage under control, I am going to have both inside and outside walls stucco'ed. You can see the main house in the background, so I can maintain some connection with family responsibilities.

More Pix to come...

Cool mate - putting the stucco on the cinder blocks increases the STC (Sound transmission coefficient)....great idea. :)

Love the house and the setting, keep the pics coming :)

cheers

Damn man, I wish I had a house that nice!!!!!!! My house is just a meesly 1,240 sq ft. But, it has a big footprint, which is good for my basement studio.
