String Noise

I did some late evening recording tonight, and because my amp was turned down quite a bit my mic picked up string noise from my electric (yeah, it was that quiet). I can hear it in my DAW, but less so in the attached bounce. Anyway, my question is this: does this noise bug you enough that you would re-record? It's present on both guitars.

By the way, excuse the mix. I was just tracking, and all I did was bounce my working/tracking mix down and shorten it with some fades to post it here.

Thanks!

EDIT: Pay more attention to the guitar on the right. In the mp3, it's more prominent a problem on that guitar.

This one is going to be good.
A left guitar could be considered like an intentional dirty playing but there is that loose string at 0.22 on the right.
That's why you need to retrack it. Retrack them both.

I agree with sikter. It would sound a lot cleaner re-recorded. The spot at 0:22 is a noticeable distraction. Good work, though.

=D

Honestly, I can't even hear the string noise you're talking about.

Though I did hear the loose string. (I think you've got a consensus there :D )

I've been listening back trying to catch string noise at 0:22 since the first post. Only now do I realize you folks are talking about me playing two open strings.

I see what you mean. I have to hit one sixteenth note double-stop of open E and B strings in order to facilitate the long slide that follows, but after listening back it sounds like I'm hitting three sixteenths there through mistake, fatigue, or sloppiness (I opt for fatigue!). I'll retrack tonight when I get home.

Thanks again.

i like how you build up the dynamics in the song, to a climax.
But in the beginning sometimes i hear some dissonance from the guitars.

...

the 80's band "Saxon" (I still have 2 of their songs in "heavy rotation" on my car stereo MP3 player, lol) had one song where there was very prevalent string noise on an extended, soft electric guitar. Its one of their best classics, really.

string noise is not necessarily bad in and of itself. (in my view, anyways...lol)
