Streaming Question

I can't remember where I read an article about streaming mp3's from a website. It had a part that instructed you to create a text file with the URL of the mp3 and then save the file as an mpu instead of txt and put the mpu and mp3 file in the same directory on your website. Anybody know what I am talking about?
