Hi all/

Good news, I'm gonna buy a strat!

Very exciting.

Heaps of questions concerning the bridge.

Will the trem stay flat to the body if I use 5 springs in the back with 11 gauge strings?
Big difference between block or springs to hold the bridge flat?

And the big one, will the bridge still set up correctly in this position? 'Cause i Imagine you'd have to raise the bridge height via the two pins and/or adjust the saddles to suit.

.. like a kid in a candy store :~P

Cheers,
FM

You can adjust the stock springs along with the bridge screws to make the bridge lie flush with the body. You probably won't need five springs. At least I didn't need five springs, but I use .10 gauge strings, not elevens. You might have to make some tiny adjustments here and there, that comes with the territory. I bought a MIM Strat and I love it. Of course there are things I plan to change, like pickups (they're a bit too noisy for my tastes), the saddles, things that American made Strats come with stock that the MIM doesn't. I'm happy with the neck and the body and that's the foundation of any good guitar.

Good luck man.
