Hi. I'm back with some problems, and I hope you'll be able to help me! Here's my problem :

My brother's friend is recording with a Behringer B1 and the MobilePre USB (sound card + preamp in one) from M-Audio and I'm working with the same mic, but I have the Audiobuddy as preamp and the Audiophile as sound card (must be a lil more quality). The problem is, with the same voice on both ''homestudio'', the first sound (with the mobilepre) is more clear, brilliant.

The question is... what can I do to sound more ''clear''? I hope you'll be able to solve my strange problems... :p

Could be the difference in the capsules in the mics themselves. Behringer isn't exactly known for having good QC.

Were the takes recorded in the same room, with the same positioning?

Maybe his room is a little brighter than yours.

If you're singing a couple inches closer to the grill than he is that can make your voice sound darker too. It's called proximity effect, and cardioid condensor mics are well-known for this effect.

I don't know, there's a lot of variables that could be causing one mic to sound different than another.

Well no, it's isn't in the same room. Mine is maybe more bigger (but not that much). I'm recording at the same positioning.

Geez, I must be stupid ;)

Try switching the mics. If the sound changes, it's the mics. If not, it's the room, or farther up the signal chain.

Is there so modifications that I can do to have a better ''sound''? It's not just less clean, but it's not the same sound quality.

Are you listening to takes recorded in both situations on the same monitors? If not you have no frame of reference.
