strange song for me...help..horn collab??

I'm looking for a texture that will fit this..i think strings will make it a cheese fest..and i've tooted out a few notes on this trombone i got from a friend a few days ago..it took me a while just to find the notes i wanted to play...and then i did a lot of copy and pasting...

the chorus just needs something and i think its some mellow trombone or trumpet. i was thinking maybe some vocals..but eck..i just think its not in context with what i'm shooting for.

instrument options are...cello, violin, electric guitar, acoustic guit, glock (though i've used it on a few other songs)...but i really have no idea how to play horns..so if you want to collab, please say so...

by the way...this is not mixed for anything final right now..so yeah..its not perfect. work in progress for sure
 
Acoustic guitar and electric bass!!!! do it. This song is sick!!! Add in a strumming acoustic guitar part with a held out rhythm electric bass part. I know thats exactly what this song is missing.

It already songs pretty good :D.

edit: maybe even a second piano part in a higher octave on the chorus. If I think the chorus is the chorus im thinking of. the part where your vocals are panned.
 
Very progressive and original CP.....I'm not a big fan of accordians however it does contribute greatly to the originality. Cool vocal melody line, again very original.....Sounds pretty nice so far......
 
Cool...this is very unique. I love the strings that pop up first around :27. The piano part is nice throughout. The whole arrangement offers a little something unexpected at every turn.

I also enjoyed the melody of the vocals and the lyrics. It is not very accessable, but there is a lot of depth here.
 
Its a cool tune, sounds like Carole King meets Todd Rundgren. It might wotk better if you take the accordian down a bit. Nice. :)
 
ok..so i'll turn up my electric bass...haha. it's there. i've mostly just tracked...eq things..and done some editing....levels are pretty sloppy...editing is really sloppy...panning is sloppy...

i'm cleaning that up..and cutting out that second intro...

this thing looks like major surgery. thanks for the feedback
 
Lift the bass but I wouldn't add anything to this as it holds together well now. To add you'd have to subtract & I wouldn't remove anything from this - the King/Rundgren comparison is spot on David. A Wizard A True Bizarre but very good with it.
The vocals are very effective - a little like Colin ? from Mull Historical Society.
 
i had too youtube for todd rundgren. strange outfits, but i see where you came from with the comparison. others have said rufus wainwright too.

i've done a lot with it...i want to burn it off and do some other system checks on a few songs. i'll repost this some time.

i think i want to get a friend to play the horns i'm shooting for in the chorus
