thanks for the kind words....years ago, when I was real serious about trying to "make it" in music,I could not take any criticism about my guitar playing/compositions,which,upon looking back, probaly really hindered my musical growth.I guess I've kinda mellowed and grown a bit wiser(I hope!) with age and really take feedback as a chance to learn and hear my music thru someone elses ears...now,I may not agree totally with what someone may say,but I really value there opinion.I guess as you grow more confident in your self, you don't take things so personally.I will keep plugging away at it and as long as I'm having fun,and some people dig the music I make..it's all cool, and I think, with this attitude, the music will improve cause I'm not freaking on what other people think or say.
Do you have any tunes out there?I bet your voice is not as bad as your making it out to be!If you wanna try singing this one let me know...I could post a vocal-less version up there for you to download.
Thanks again!
Hey, post it, and I'll try. I really am that bad, at least for most musical genres. But, I love to have fun.... :D

Man, that sounds great!!!! :D
When I read how you did the drums, I couldn't believe it!!! Great work w/ the loops!!! As a guitar player w/ a 1 man studio, that's always my biggest challenge, and usually I end up letting the drums dictate the song...

Nice guitar playing too.... I got back in to wah pedal (yesterday!!), after not having/using one for 15 years.... I dig it... alot!! In my case, it helps cover up sloppy, poorly constructed improvised solos!!!
Hey,thanks for checking out the tune...yeah,the drum loops can be tediious to work with, but the way I described seems to work best for me and gets 'em sounding as human as possible!I go thru phases using my wah...try not to rely on it to much as it gets kinda cliche sounding...on this tune I used the wah thats built into my podxt live...I think it does a pretty decent job replicating a old vox wah type sound.
Thanks again for listening!

Here ya go Ed,(or who ever else wants to mess with it :D )I posted a version on my soundclick site without lead vox...I just left the "stone Free's" chorus part.Have fun and post what you come up with!
Stone Free No Lead Vocals

Hey Axman, if you want drums for this, I'd love to lay down a track for you. But I'm not sure how you'd do that. I can play right over this version but then I don't know how you'd get rid of the loop track after. Don't get me wrong, the drums sound good, but if you want a real drum track and you can figure out how to do that, I'd love to do it.
Meanwhile I'll think about doing a vocal track for the fun of it too.

That sounds cool..I could do the same thing as the I did with the vocals and put a version up without drums...I use Cakewalks guitar tracks pro3,so,I could also export it as a .cwb(cakewalk bundle) or .cwp(cakewalk project)if you can work with those types of files/formats...let me know and I can post it or send it.

I don't know how to work with those types if files. I guess post it without drums and I'll see if I can play along with it. Maybe if you can tell me the tempo I can create a click track. Thanx, this should be fun if we can pull it off.

That's too much fun doing covers! :D :D The Snakedog's rhythm & lead guitar/vocal services are always available, just let me know!

And for the record, I use guitar tracks pro 3 too, definitely does a good job for me...

I will post a drumless version later tonight..that would be real cool to hear some live drums on this!!!

Kick ASS! Very well done! I have nothing to add this is just very, very well done my friend! It has been added to my playlist.......!

LOL I have Cakewalk's Drumloop cd and I could't imagine putting something together that awesome!

Ok, here is my version. Axeman playing, and me, uh, doing the vocal thing.
StoneFree
I tried to hide the vocs as best as possible, and it now sounds like I eq'd a bit too much out of Axeman's song. This is purely for my fun and entertainment, and I thank Axeman for doing this. I've never done a Hendrix song before, but this gives me a chance to play. Dude, appreciate it, and man, it was hard getting some of the timing correct. I took liberties as needed to fit my limited ability.

Sweet man! This is like the hardcore side of hendrix :p Yeah this is definitely some good fun... sounded like you had fun with this one.

Yeah you "Dog" dudes really stick together don't ya???

Holy shit!!! This is the way it would sound NOW. That's got some serious 'tude. I love it! Sort of like a Lemmy Hendrix thing happening. You got the perfect voice for that type of singing, Dogdude.

Thanks, guys. I did have fun, but also found out how hard it was, as the singing is not on time with anything in particular in this rythum. I can't sing, so just did it my way. I think Axeman has a better voice, but appreciate that he put this up for us to play with. I've never done Hendrix, but have been toying with Voodoo Chile....That is one I have wanted to do for about 25 years. i have never gotten arounnd to it, but may try a hard/Motorhead version of it now.... :D

Dogman... I dig it man!!!You sing it with a lot more emotion then I do...I really tried to get my voice rougher..I just got to self conscious...yeah,the phrasing is real tricky on this isn't it?I can't tell you how many times I had to stop and restart just cause I got tounge tied! :p . I love motorhead and this definetly has that vibe.I think in Rock, being able to sing with feeling and attitude is key.I like the long "stone freeeeee" at the end.Cool man.
Thanks for taking the time to do this, its really cool have somebody else something new to this song!Bring on Voodoo Chile!!!

Rami...I'm mixing down the drumless version now and should have it posted on my Soundclick site shortly if your still interested!

Ok Rami...I put the drumless version up there...the tempo is 130bpm.I put 4 qyater note closed hi hats at the beginnig...not sure if that will help and I didnt have any click thing to put in there sooo...do your thing man!
