I'd try to get the guitars to fill up more space. There is a big hole in the audio spectrum since there is no bass there. Try to get the guitars to fill that space. Try boosting the bass and the mids on the guitars. Have you tried to LA compression to get the drums to hit harder. Also, it seems really compressed. That might be making it sound weak.

I'll second the big hole theory. And definitely need to get the drums bigger too. Parallel compression will help, but that snare sample is totally hideous to my ears. Actually, all of the drums are pretty scary. What drum program are you using? You may want to upgrade that first IMO.

Your guitar playing is quite tight man, props there. Adding bass will definitely help, though the issues with the drums will become more apparent, once you start trying to find space for everything.

I love the freaky scream thing in there! :D

i haven't messed around with a compressor before. so my knowledge on that is non existent. ive only gotten this far from comments left by this forum and trial and error. if i could maybe get like an explanation on how to do the things you guys have suggested it would be greatly appreciated. im using reaper. with a line6 guitarport. and a few impulses for the tone, because i still cant get a good tone from my line6 ...i recently got a digitech rp1000 and im still working with that to get a good tone. im glad theres a few of you willing to help me. its people like you that really make this forum awesome. as always im open to all comments good or bad ..the bad ones help push me so dont be affraid to tell me you hate it hahah

I've never used reaper, so I can't really walk you through it. Here is an explanation Parallel Compression Explained - YouTube. Basically it makes things sound louder, punchier without increasing the overall volume too much. Like any technique don't over do it.

Another thing I noticed, are you using reverb on your mix? It sounds like you're guitars a far back in the mix. That might also be the levels though. Good luck.

thank you will check out the video when i have a little extra time. no reverb is used except for the preset reverb on the drums. i recently realized i have my mic set back fairly far on my line 6 gearbox. should it be mic'ed close to the speaker? like i said im new to this recording thing. i apologize if i ask alot of questions
