BAD TAPE LISTED ON EBAY April 1 - 6
These tapes are known to have Sticky-Shed Syndrome (SSS). See Sticky Shed Help Thread for more info, or to comment:

Tapes are listed as bad for various reasons. Some models are all bad regardless of year. Ampex are bad only in certain years (1994 and earlier).

Some sellers don't know they are selling bad tape, but some are well aware. I'm trying to list mostly New-Old-Stock tape, but have some used tapes listed as one-pass or like-new.

Bad tape to buy

I bought a reel of RMG Studio Master 900 brand new and it sucks. The tape shed that is left on the guides and heads is very bad. I called the company and was asked to take picks of the guides and heads to determine if the problem was my deck or a bad tape. I bought the tape so my reel could be calibrated, cleaned, and tuned. On my work order the tech said the tape sucked. I was sent a replacement and was asked to send back the original reel to them. Originally I agreed to do that until I saw no prepaid slip to send it back. I paid almost 70.00 plus shipping the first time, I will not pay to have the pile of junk sent back. Now I will buy the ATR master tape that is in production. Here is a link to this tape. By the looks of the review I think this will be the best tape to buy. BAD TAPE ALERT

The photos of the three reels have been taken from another listing and photoShopped. Each reel is the same photo stacked one on the other. The photo is of 14" reels, not 10.5" as the listing implies "2500’ of tape" If we can trust the photo of the closed box this tape is from the sticky-shed years.

No response from the seller to my questions of a couple days ago

First of all, 3M 807 has sticky-shed and is not anything like Ampex/Quantegy 456 as he claims in the listing.

Guys and dolls please complain to eBay and help me get this lying son of a bitch and his sticky wares off eBay any way we can. He regularly violates eBay rules by offering to sell tape outside of eBay. At this point whatever technicality you can find contact eBay. Eventually they’ll take notice.
