Stickie Needed

Dear David,
Could a stickie with links to a couple of the more details answers be put up to address the "What do I need to start recording?" quastions. One for PC, one for Mac and one for analogue perhaps????
I used to come into newbie land and answer but an original question is so rare I gave up referring folk to the search engine.

i would say, "better off posting this in the bbs feedback section" except it's simply not true. you could post this in the frigging "compilation cd" forum and had a comparable response.
