stereo to mono recording

I have been experimenting the past couple years with recording on both tape and digital. I have a porta2, (which I now use to run multiple mics thru) and the Pandoras box. My question is since the Pandoras box has only one input, and I run 2 mics thru the porta 2, will the stereo effect be lost when run to one input? even if I run it to 2 tracks on the korg?

If you run a stereo signal output into 1 input, you lose separation.
If you split the signal from the Pandora into 2 tracks of the Korg, panning both left and right you can try and recreate your original stereo tracks.
It would be a lil easier if you purchase a multi-input sound card
so you can go direct into the p.c. .
