Im running Cakewalk Pro 9, and have what seems to be a re-acurring problem.

This has happened to me twice actually.

When recording, my right channel is louder than the left. I didnt do anything for this to happen it just started doing it.

If you were to go into the console view, you would see the right channel monitoring higher than the left on any track.

This happened a few months ago and was like this for the longest time, so I un-installed the program and re-istalled it and it was ok. After about a week it went back to the same thing. I did the reinstall but its still messed up.

Im forced to recording in mono now.

Any Idea what this can be...?

any chance you have adjusted the pan on the mains without knowing it? Or on an aux bus?

Or maybe the pan in the Windows Mixer is adjusted?

it may also be possible that there is a "key binding" set that is controlling the pan, so when you hit some combination of keys on your computer keyboard you are changing the pan without being aware you are doing it. I am not certain (being a sonar user) if CWP 9 has it, but if it does, you can "clear all key bindings" which may clear it up.

Nope, PA9 doesen't have that option...

And I don't think a Key Binding would be able to control the pan (or volume for that matter). Or am I totaly wrong?

I only have this problem in cakewalk, not other audio programs and media players.

Ive looked in the console view pan and all traks are fine.

It only does this for recorded tracks. If I import wav audio, it sets up and plays fine, no type of pan/fade.

Where all can the pan be adjusted...?

Oh, is there some kind of way to save cakewalks settings? Like how many tracks and what ports and drivers are used etc...?

Because I hate having to change everthing when Im setting up.

Perhaps somethings getting saved with a pan adj. or something, I dont know...?

What happens when you solo each track and monitor them.. are they all playing the same way... ie one track.. still playing louder out in the right channel?

Go through each track... see if you get the same thing... if they are all straight down the centre.... it will be the master pan.

Also are you using any Aux busses, because there are pan settings on them also.
