I've played around with Fruity Loops Stereo Enhancer and Voxengo's Stereo Touch. They really liven up the mono tracks, and have made my tunes sound much better. But I want better than that if possible. My question is, are there better plugins for this? Or is there some trick I can do myself to stereo-ize the mono track? e.g. making a cloned track and adding delay or something to one. I need to learn these tricks heh.

Your tracks will dissapear in mono if you do this to them. The way to make stereo is to take a bunch of individual tracks (kick, snare, hat, bass, etc...) and pan those mono tracks around the stereo field. Not turn all your mono tracks to stereo, that leads to a big phasey mess.

I only turn featured mono tracks into stereo. The backup I keep in mono. I.e. I pan the mono tracks to various places in the stereo field. But for the main instrument, like my fiddling, it sounds better with stereo enhancement of some sort.

add some mono-->stereo reverb or delay to a mono track. that'll liven up a mono track.

Why don't you just stereo mic your fiddling? The problem is, your enhanced track will dissapear in mono. It will also do goofy things if listened to on a surround system. The way these things work is by taking the signal and inverting the polarity of one side. In mono it completely cancels out. Reverb would be a better solution, or even a chorus.
