Let's all please stop this idiotic debate. We are down to arguing over personal pronouns. This needs to stop.

Obviously DJL has it in for Alan Hyatt, for WHATEVER reason (he has never said). That has distorted his position, at least so far, and guided his repetitive, disingenuous questions. Plus, he is one of the ones who drove off people of far greater experience who could have taught us a lot, and I remain angry at him for that.

But still - still - that isn't cause for us to just start mindlessly bashing DJL. I wish we would all just stop this stuff and get back to microphones. (Not vendettas, DJL, microphones).

Anyone else here agree?

Fab

Hey Fab,

This isn't the DJL bashing thread. You've taged the wrong one. :p

This about a possibly misleading page on the PMI website. Well, among other things. :D

I agree and I have lighten up already.... maybe someday, when we've all cooled down I'll point out what really happened... untill then I'm finished talking about PMI.

Thanks for subjecting us to "what really happened"....perhaps you could have done all of this venom spitting in private with the object of your perversion personally rather than creating such a negative vibe here amoungst those who DONT know "what really happened". It really only goes to show what a jerk you are by doing so in such a public way, when really no one could care less, but unfortunately could not really avoid it due to your ever present personna telling us just how rotten you're being treated. At least you could have had the balls to deal with your personnal problems in a more personnal way. Protecting the general public is not your business as its up to each individual to make up their own minds about things such as what mic to buy and what company to buy it from. Its really a shame as in fact you seem to be relatively knowledgeable about mics in general and you can, at times, be an engageing and interesting person with something to offer. Its too bad you cant seem to maintain this personna for any length of time. And Yeah Yeah, I know about "dont like it ,Dont read it...."

And thanks be if you are really mellowing out. That would be a great thing.Making this a bearable place to visit.

It's a goddamn LINKS page. You've never heard of a LINKS page? You've never seen a website with a page called LINKS that had LINKS to other websites?

You know, at one time the anti-PMI stuff made sense, because Alan was, perhaps unknowingly, posting some comments that were unfair in an independent public forum. I was very much against this and said so publically. But now it's just the opposite...Alan isn't posting and certain users are making very unfair comments about PMI.

I'm embarassed and ashamed. I think RE has all the right to clean this bullshit up too. Disgusing insults behind "honest questions" is insulting to everyone.

sm2k,

The page doesn't say "Links" it says "PMI Companies". IMO that is confusing.

You talk about people being insulting and you can't even post that without using vulgarities.

I don't believe this thread was started in order to bash PMI and I don't believe for the most part PMI has been bashed here.

lol, do you guys actually read? It says 'Links' at the top and there are seperate headings one of which is 'Companies'. NOT PMI Companies.

Did you guys also think PMI ownded 5 magazines, the AES and NAMM?

cavedog101, it's no secert... if you really want to know "what really happened" all you have to do is search and read the old messages, it's all there. Anyway, if you want me to lighten up... stop throwing logs on the fire.

They changed this. Today, probably. When I looked up there before it said "PMI companies."

We're not lying, Tex!:)

cominginsecond is right.

Honestly some of you people are thicker than 4 short planks.

Anybody with half an understanding of the semantics of the English language would know that the term "Our Companies" was perfectly legitimate, even more so when you consider there was a full explanation available on the PMI site.

If you bothered to actually read further on the PMI site and not just jump onto the first possible chance to nit-pick, you would have found the "About PMI" page which was previously quoted in this thread and which clearly states PMI's relationship AS A DISTRIBUTOR to those companies.

acorec, asked a simple question and provided a link to the statement in question (which has been changed as cominginsecond pointed out).... do you really think it's fair to say that acorec is "thicker than 4 short planks" just because he read something that mislead him? Others said that they thought it could be misleading also, and if the company didn't think it could be misleading they wouldn't have change it.

For the record... I think it was an honest mistake, or PMI just didn't see it that way until acorec pointed it out. Hell, they should thank acorec.

Ask yourself this then.............do you think that acorec, after seeing that link listing, also believed that PMI owned Sony?

Why, after seeing that list, didn't he read or research further within the PMI site and find the page previously refered to instead of jumping to some misguided conclusion..............or did he find it and conveniently chose to ignore it.

I think he knows better now and that you owe acorec an apology... and I think PMI should thank him for pointing it out and for leading many people to their webpage... that's what think. :)

No DJ, as usual you show that you don't think, well at least not efficiently.

I didn't single acorec out as being as thick as 4 short planks.........YOU DID, so maybe you should be the one apologising.

Listen, I'm a Technical Communicator by trade, and I feel I am qualified to say this: that label was confusing, to say the least. However, PMI did nothing intentionally wrong, and neither did acorec. PMI is not stupid and neither is acorec. It was one confusing statement on an otherwise OK site.

This has to be the stupidest thing we've ever argued about. What a joke!!!

For once, I agree with DJL.
