I am having an odd problem with getting the Step Sequencer to play all my steps. I made a recording of the problem so that you could see and hear what I am. I then posted the 53 second video on Youtube so you all to see. For those of you that might not want to go watch the small video I am all so taking the time to explain in detail what the problem is...

I am really sorry for the double post but if I can not figure this out I just wasted hundreds of dollars on building this computer and the software and a couple of plugins...

In step sequencer I am setting it up like this

4 Beats - 4 Steps

......1.................2..................3.................4........
[ ][ ][ ][ ] | [ ][ ][ ][ ] | [ ][ ][ ][ ] | [ ][ ][ ][ ]

Now I add a beat like this...(X is where the Bass Drum SHOULD hit)

......1.................2..................3.................4........
[ ][X][ ][X] | [ ][X][ ][X] | [X][ ][X][ ] | [X][ ][X][ ]

I push play to hear what I have but only 3 beats are playing. If you look at the drum set on the screen you will see that the Bass Drum is only being hit three of the eight times, so it is not a matter of it not just playing the sound of the hit...(X is where the Bass Drum SHOULD hit...O is where the Bass Drum IS hitting)

......1.................2..................3.................4........
[ ][O][ ][O] | [ ][X][ ][O] | [X][ ][X][ ] | [X][ ][X][ ]

Any ideas what would make the Step Sequencer work right?

Wow that is odd...

I'm at a computer that only has SS 1.0 (looks like you're running SS 2.0) and it worked fine for me using your pattern.

The only difference would be that I have to manually create the drum map for session drummer before I can open SS, whereas you can go right into SS from the session drummer interface...

I'll have a chance tomorrow to test my version of SS 2.0 when I'm in my studio, but in the meantime, maybe try creating the drummap manually.

Also, does this occur with Session Drummer 3.0 as well?

Yeah it happens in any step sequencer that I tried. Could it be my sound card? I am still using my on-board sound card till I get my Digital Audio Interface. I do not think that this is the problem because I can manually record a beat and I can use the Sonar interface, what ever it is called, to "write" out the midi information and that works right.

So you know I have not done music in around 8 years and this is my first time going digital so my knowledge is very basic. Knowing this where might I find a good tutorial about drum maps?

Solved: As it turned out there was an update to the program that I needed for it to work with my setup.
