(Not pickup hum) short static crackles when strumming. (90's Standard Strat MIA) I read it could be a static buildup from the pick guard - weird. Anyone experience this and if yes how did you fix it?
Do you think it correlates to the weather?? Like maybe when the humidity is low??
Ya know, down here in H-town, it's always humid as fuck. During the summer, in the mornings or at night, it's sometimes literally like a steam room or something. The fog just sits there, and it's hot fog. Sounds lovely, right? Lol. Anyway, there's power lines runing behind my house, and when it's really hot, humid, and crummy, like humid enough to make the cars wet and nothing evaporates, I can hear those bitches humming quietly and it makes my gear noisy. Especially things with single coils, like my Strat and bass. I'm not saying that's what's up with Ido's geetar, but weather definitely can play hell with electrical stuff.
Weird how the weather can be so different within just a couple of hundred miles. We rarely have any kind of humidity. I think we average 35% and you're up around 55 or 60 % average.
I will try and record a clip in Sonar and upload it here - might be able to this weekend...A sound clip would probably clear this up in no time....
A sound clip over the ear would probably clear this up in no time....
