Hi everybody,
I've been doing live sound and playing in bands for a good 5 or 6 years now, and that's included work in many recording environments, from pro-studios to more amateur ones, and from 4-track recordings to radio sessions.
I'd like to start doing my own home recordings, for making pretty good-quality demos. Due to being somewhat of a luddite, and due to a personal preferance, I'd like to do analogue tape recordings, most probably starting off with 8-tracks. What would be a good, reasonably-priced (ie, pretty cheap!) 8-track recorder for me to buy to get started with, and would I need any extra stuff to allow me to mix it after recording? I also take it that an 8-track would allow me to overdub, provided I have tracks left over?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Richard x
