I'm starting out and want to digitally record on a Mac computer.
I would like to burn Cds and create MP3 files.

I also want to purchase a better keyboard. My style of music is
New Age/Trance using warm accoustic sounds blended with
electronic/synth sounds. I don't like my music to sound too 'electronicy'.
I will be creating some groove tracks as well.

I would like to do this for around $1500 (excluding computer).

I am thinking on purchasing a Alesis QS 7.1 ($900 +/-) for my keyboard.
I tried one out and was impressed with the acoustic sounds (piano) as well
as the synth sounds. Anyway, I hear that the Alesis comes with sequencing
software (and maybe other bells and whistles I don't know about).
Is this all I'm going to need? Do I need additional hardware and/or software
like Mark of the Unicorn?

I'm not new to computers ...but I am new to recording tracks on them.
I would appreciate any input anyone can give me.

Thanks.

BTW. This is a great site.
