but seriously, here is a start
Zinging strings amp build page

you will also want to get a decent soldering station and practice soldering scrap wire to a junk circuit boad ect to get a good feel of soldering wiring and you need to learn first off about how to safely discharge capacitors to keep from getting electricuted which will seriously kill you.

that should get you a start

well yeah google lol....99% of things i may read may be a bunch of hooey..id rather get reliable links from here...lol

thanks for the 2 links :)

I built several Weber amp kits for my guitar friends (I play bass) and they went together great. One site you may find helpfull is AX 84 Amp Page. Lots of information on building amps plus they sell kits and parts. Learning to solder is the first step and understanding the dangers of high voltage is a must! The amps I worked on had 500/600 volts in them.

I don't consider myself a know it all on soldering but i have been doing it for almost 35 years and certified to MIL standards. Let me know if I can help with questions, plus there's alot of folks here that are "in the know" also!

What he said. I have built a Weber JTM45 and 2 x AX84 amps.

I"ve built quite a few amps , some simple power amps and a few guitar/bass amps , I"m thinking about makeing a low power PA (maybe 100w each channel) ...

Once you can read a schematic and understand the basic functions of each component and maybe basic some PCB Layout knowlege then you can probably make a pretty simple amps pretty easilly....

Here is info on curcuit symbols so you can learn how to read a schematic...

http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/symbol.htm

There are Some Power amp Integrated Curcuits you can buy for pretty cheap that allow you to make a pretty good sounding and powerfull power amp with as few as 10 Parts....

Maybe look into :

TDA2003
TDA2030
TDA2040
TDA2050
LM3875
LM3886
LM1875

There are also some easy to follow Kits available useing these chips which would be a good project....

Cheers
