starting studio HELP!!!!

I am starting a recording studio and I am in need of an equipment list that includes everything from consoles to cables and cords. I am on a budget of around $13,500.I have an computer, yamaha digital piano and yamaha drums. I am in need of all necessary equipment that is used in producing high quaility CD's and tapes on a small scale(around 20-40 of each). I have not been sucessful in finding all the items it takes to run and operate a studio. If anyone could give me a list with the brand names of each piece this would be helpful even if I don't buy that brand I will have the knowledge of the types that are available.
Thank you VERY much!!

Hmmm....

...this question is just begging for a snarky response!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT - giving you the benefit of the doubt, I would simply suggest you read the FAQ, make notes, then ask more specific questions regarding a certain type of gear....... your question as it is is WAY too broad - plus it kind of gives the impression that you don't want to do your homework!!! ;)

Read my post on the 2nd page of "help me" in this same forum, this might be a good place to start.

If you legitimally (ill spell check that) have 13,500 to spend, Id suggest Paris.....spend the rest on mics and outboard gear, a few instruments if needed.....also some will be needed for sound treatment of the room(s) you will be in............

we could all list what we would do with $13,500 then he could spend 2 weeks reading all the stuff ont he board and then come to his conclusion. but im not going to fantasise like that :)

but AAWORD, this bbs is indispensible. use the search function which doesnt seem to be working right now. so if its not working for you just read all the threads you can in all the forums. to tell you the truth, you will probably want to wait atleast 6 months before you get anything so you will run through all your "i want this" and compulsive buys.

I have done as much research as I was able, I have no knowledge of recording at all and this is why my question was so broad. I've only recently found this site and have not had the opportunity to search it completly.

I hear ya....

...there is a lot of basic info contained in a number of FAQ listed on this site. Start here --> https://homerecording.com/newbies.html, go thru each of the FAQs and take notes, then post some more specific questions. There are A LOT of good people here willing to help, but you have to help yourself too!!!! ;)

Welcome aboard! :)
