Is there a standard timing for rap beats? if there is anyone aware of the standard and any websites that show the timing for beats in mainstream rap songs?

sorry if the question is off topic

i guess 4/4 would be standard for rap beats, havent really heard anything other than that used in rap...

that gives me an idea, i shall make the world's first 5/8 rap song!

are we talking about time signature here then?

I’m thinking he means tempo…

80 – 110 BPM is the most common range. You’ll get slower stuff, at around 60, like Twista. Faster stuff, up to 150, like Outkast “Bombs Over Baghdad”.

There’s no rules though…do whatever works.

I guess what greecher really meant by "timing" will remain one of life's mysteries...

4/4

and tempo's see to be speeding up these day.. but when I started

tempos where in the 85 - 94 area (blunted speeds).. Now adays you find ish 100 bpms and higher...

of course there's a standard timing in Hiphop.
