There are ways to build an audience of real followers. What you are proposing are fake followers. Have a look at this book: 'One Million Followers, Updated Edition: How I Built a Massive Social Following in 30 Days'. I have found intelligent, photogenic women can be very good at creating engaging social media content. (And I don't mean soft-porn content or yet another set of makeup tutorials.)
I found it very interesting. It is available on Amazon. There are similar books specifically for music.
Two key hints on building a brand with music are:
  1. Have your own web site as your centre of your digital universe.
  2. Keep a database of fans recording 4 key things: Name, email address, SMS phone number and location.
That database will become the artists most important piece of intellectual property.
I am a producer and engineer who has never released my own material. Trying to get artists to do those two things appears to be almost impossible. I find the only those 2 things get done is to have a contractor from www.freelancer.com do it for them. Artists done understand the importance and often ask: "Can't I just do it all on Facebook?"
First of all, no unrealistic dreams of fame and fortune here ?. I just thought “ home recording “ would be a good theme for a playlist and is as genuine a theme as any other private or Spotify generated playlist. I’m simply asking that if anyone wants some of they’re material to be on my playlist just let me know as it is difficult to find who may have streamed what based on they’re HR usernames alone. I am able to find a link sometimes that will help direct me to a band or artist name, that I can find on Spotify, which is how I found the songs on my playlist so far. I’ve also had artists tell me what to look for on Spotify which is helpful. When I listen to the Home Recording playlist, I genuinely enjoy the songs, and I think that is what Spotify is all about. If it supports one of my fellow HR artists then that’s a plus. What could be fake about this?
Cheers

I agree. I've been playing your list and I enjoy all of the songs. I hope more HR folks ask to put songs on your list.

Spotify have a new system to help people promoting their music not being included in bot style fake playlists. So if somebody puts your music into a playlist that happens to be a fake one, designed to push certain songs, you can get off it - because of course, if it IS a fake playlist - your music could be taken down if a complaint is filed ort they notice. Being on a spammy playlist could result in your music being taken down. Serious stuff - so you can report people adding you.

I’ve never been able to find or see if any of my music is on a playlist other than one I’ve made. Is there a way to do that?
Might have a song on release radar once or twice but not sure.

Thanks Dude!

I discovered that if you search for the song title it gives you a playlist option and your track shows up if it’s on a playlist. Not that useful if there are lots with the same name

I tried that with one of my songs and it didn't work. I searched the song title and then picked the Playlist option and not one list showed up and I know that song is on at least 4 or 5 playlists.

Hey I have a Xmas playlist on Spotify for anyone who wants to listen but is too lazy or doesn’t have the time to make they’re own.

Looks like I finally figured out how to link my playlist from Spotify.
For those who want to check out other artists from home recording.com here is my playlist. If you would like me to put your song (s) on just shoot me a message or reply here.
Cheers and hope you enjoy

I've been doing my own playlist. I can play Jingle Bell Rock, Blue Christmas, White Christmas, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

I'll bet it doesn't have:
'I'm walking backwards for christmas' - Spike Milligan.
'Make a daft noise for christmas' - Bill Oddie.

'I'm walking backwards for christmas' was the B side of Spike Milligan's 'Ying Tong Song'.

There are possibilities like NAS:

It's a community of likeminded artists in playlists, but also boosting their other socials, interacting on multiple platforms to grow.
It's not against Spotify rules, you gain a fair amount of streams in the beginning until you reach a ceiling and then it stagnates. You don't peak to thousands of streams, it stays under the radar. Only disadvantage: it takes a lot of time to be active in that community.

For those of us that have songs on Spotify I think we are always hoping to get more listeners and streams. I was thinking that with such a large community on HR we could support each other. I would be willing to author a playlist that everyone could follow. Whomever would like to participate could post say up to 5 songs that you feel would best represent you. I would post them on the playlist.
I would commit to playing the playlist at least one day a week, and everyone who has they’re songs posted there could do the same. Obviously that would affect our numbers. It would also let us hear the diverse music that has been produce by this community over the years, which I think is a positive thing. I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t be breaking any rules as we would be listening to new music and that is the whole point of Spotify.
Thoughts…….??
Guy
I'd love to get in if you're still looking for new music.
You can pick some songs from my releases (link in bio).
I also have a playlist myself where I can add some songs of the members here if you want.
