My wife and I went up to a cabin in the north WI woods this past weekend for our 22nd anniversary, and while we were there, we recorded a couple of cover songs (Joe Henry's "Trampoline" being the other) for fun. It was a spur-of-the-moment thing recorded on GarageBand on my iPad with the built-in mic. One track, all live - no overdubs.
Because of this, there's not a whole lot of "mixing" that I can do, aside from some EQ, compression, and the amount of reverb. I was a bit liberal with the verb, because I thought it suited the vibe well. I actually haven't messed with EQ or compression at all, because it sounded pretty nice to me in those regards, but I'm curious to hear any input.
Thanks!
