Have you also noticed how many people say "like" every other word?

I blame it all on Scooby Doo. So many Americans (myself included) grew up watching it. Just go back and listen to Shaggy talk sometime... he is the reason.

"ridiculous" is commonly misspelled "rediculous".

"its"/"it's" is also quite abused.

Which is the proper short form of "until"?

I am waiting till the show is over.

I have been told by some people that both forms are acceptable, but it still bugs me when I see "till" used in that fashion.

Incidentally, does one phonetically say DAW, or say each letter separately?

It's a TLA (three letter acronym). I suppose it could go either way. You could sound it out phonetically, but just think how smart it sounds saying "D" "A" "W", or "digital audio workstation", and how.. well... not-smart it sounds saying "dawww".

People tend to use the acronym as a word if it's got the right vowels like NASA, SIMM, or RAM, but try that with FBI, CPU, or PCI.
