Has anyone tried any speech recognition software to AT LEAST activate RECORD during a session (I use Nuendo)? UNDO would be nice but I'd like to at least do several takes on top of each other (if I have to) as opposed to running back and forth 15 feet from my vocal booth to the Nuendo bay every time I make a mistake when recording. Preferably through my existing audio interface.

don't you think it would be a disaster if your speech recognition software mistakes a song lyrics for "undo" and deletes everything you have ever recorded? :) Just a thought.
i don't think speech recognition is a good idea in audio production because you are producing sound constantly in the studio to confuse the software.

To make your situation a little better, use punch in punch out and loop recording.

try a wireless track ball... i can edit from across the room at my keyboard...

I think wireless keyboard is the better choice because usually the control room monitor is not visible from the vocal booth. At least in a keyboard you can hit "R" for record or set up a shortcut key.

Well I have a wireless mouse/keyboard--not sure of the range and haven't tried it in combination with my existing keyboard/mouse at the editing bay but I guess it's worth a try to put a shelf in there. Or, as "dementedchord" stated, perhaps I don't even really need a keyboard in there since I could probably manage with just a mouse--good idea! I have an LCD monitor mounted on the wall inside the booth so that shouldn't be an issue. Just thought I might be able to cut a few corners and check out speech recognition first before implementing more hardware.

Thanks guys!
