I wanna start doing some pc recording and currently have klipsch promedia 2.1 speakers. Do still need to buy monitors to get good results when mixing?

Yes, you do. Mixing with PC speakers is like trying to read through cheesecloth.

:)..... And that might even be an understatement.

Monitors are crucial part of your setup (as well as your soundcard's AD/DA converters).

How much can you spend on some monitors?

Event makes an awesome series of monitors. Check out the Event 20/20's.

I think the website is...

p.s. Welcome to this site. :D

What might be a better pair (might), would be JBL SLR25 for $500 a pair. They are one of the most well balanced stereo field monitors for the Price. Check them out!

heres the deal mike...you can get a decent enough mix using those....the trouble with mixing on a speaker setup like that is that its hard to get it to translate to alot of systems....for instance you may play a mix on your buddies stereo and it sounds like it has no bass....your play it on your boom box and its booming......if thats not going to be a problem, go for it.....i mixed on a regular home stereo system for the longest, and I still mix on a lot less than what i call "pro" monitors...its all a matter of what you are looking to accomplish.....

if you are just experimenting with recording and not doing anything pro/semi pro/serious demo, those will do o.k. .....

I havent heard that set of speakers before....is this them:
