Hi

Note: I had to fill the blank spaces with dots because the edited mail didn't keept the blank spaces.

I do my mixes with a regular sound system in my living room and I would like to know one thing. Here is the set-up:

Wall
...|....Right speaker......................Couch
...|........../.......................................__
...|......................................................|
...|..___..............................................|
...| |.....|.............................................|
...| |TV |.............................................|
...| |___|.............................................|
...|......................................................|
...|..........\.......................................__|
...|.....Left speaker
...|
...|

Question: Do you think the position of the TV is altering the sound that I'm hearing when I'm on the couch ? I moved the TV back so the speaker could see each other and I have a better feel for the depth of my mixes but I'm wondering if the TV is still altering the sound in this current position.

Note: The TV is off when I do my mixes but I would like to keep this set-up because it's the one I use when I listen to regular music.

Thanks,

Jack Real.

Anything in the room will alter the sound.Mixing with a home stereo will alter the sound, much more so than your tv position. The recommended listening position with the speakers is an equallateral triangle. If the speakers are 5' apart, you should be sitting 5' away from each speaker.Hope that helps.

Hi

I tried it yesterday and it really made a difference. I was listening to the latest Amanda Marshall (not my favorite artist but the album is well produced IMO) and I could feel the depth of the sounds. Now, I have to look for a decent pair of monitors.

Thanks,

Jack Real.
