Hi,

Just bought a new Behringer mixer as my old died. Behringer 1002FX. This unit is constantly on and after I shut down my PC, I turned my speakers off and they both 'popped'. Any idea what is causing this? Can it be due to using balanced or unbalanced connections? My speakers are Samson Resolv 80a's.

Also, what surfaces are best to place the unit on as the unit is constantly on? Atleast I'm 99% certain I can't power down the unit...

Regards,
Jeff

just plug in into a power strip .... turn THAT off .... there, powered down.

As for the speakers popping at shut off ..... that's basically norma for a lot of equipment.
It they didn't do it before then it may be that they're doing it now because there's still a signal from the mixer since it's still on. So try a power strip so you can turn the mixer off and see if that takes care of it.

If your speakers are powered then it would be the same rules as if it was a PA.

power amps(speakers) turn on last ........ turn off first.
