Speaker connection ... *NOT* Monitors

Another question for y'all. I'm trying to connect some KLH speakers to my laptop for use while watching DVDs, listening to CDs/MP3s, etc. The KLH speakers have regular connectors on the back (red & black speaker line inputs).

I'm trying to connect these speakers to an Edirol UA-1A USB adapter. The adapter uses RCA outputs for stereo output.

Is there a way to connect one speaker to one RCA output?

Sorry. The Edirol device has line level outs. Those won't barely tickle the cones of the KLH speakers. The speakers have to be driven by an amplifier. Or you would have to use powered speakers that accept a line level signal.

Thanks, AC. I had my fears that I would run into some problems, but I wasn't quite sure.

Does it matter that they're teenie tiny speakers ... not regular speakers? Here's the info from the back of the speakers:

Recommended Amplifier Power: 40 watts max
Impedance: 6 Ohms Avg.
Frequency Response: 90Hz - 20KHz

What kind of wattage does a laptop put out?

Something about miliwatts, as any line output will. You definatly need an amp (at least a tiny one)
