Can anyone offer connection advice on syncing an mpc 60 and an sp1200? I have a korg d1600 as my recorder. I've yet to experiment with these. What would you do with this configuration?

thanks for the advice

Cool toys.
If I were you, I'd...

1. Try a midi cable or two.

2. Check the midi configurations on each of your machines.

3. Learn what they can each do well and shitty. (easy to find online, both machines are heartily documented)

4. Learn where the technology of the day limits your machine, and make its' hiccups your heartwarming techniques to make hot beats.

If I had your sp1200 & mpc 60, I'd be producing beats & learning how to program shit instead of squealing about getting respect for something that may not even be respectable sounding, whatever the genre.

You talk all that bullshit and you can't figure out how to slave one of your boxes to the other? So much for the electronic(a) revolution...

I'm happy to help with any questions you may have about using either unit or both together after you get your shit all hooked up - if you want it, that is...

And, if you wanna sell that MPC60 for less than the "holy shit!!!" prices I saw one go for on ebay a few weeks ago, holla. I got cash, credit, and 2 shorties waxing my Excalibur before they hit the stroll later this evening (ch-ching!!!!)...

thanks for the response i guess. I don't own an mpc 60 or an sp1200 yet. I'm trying to figure out the connections, becuase i've just sold my previous setup. but thanks for your concern. but with a bullshit response like that why should i ask you shit?

kisses

sure you are.

"Cool toys."

thanks for the sarcasm

this is one is cute. I thought music was simply aesthetics. Just because you don't like my stuff...wait a minute, i've never posted anything...thats right...

go ahead, Flo, and keep being the resident nigga. So much for black unity.

Hip hop isn't what you think it is. Its transcended borders, its broken rules- its opened up genres of music with the development of electronica. Its combined soul & funk and rock and whatever it is the neptunes do. You can hate what hip hop has become, but don't hate reality. People buy inexpensive equipment all day, otherwise there wouldn't be a need for this site. So go somewhere with your "seal of authenticity" and talk to someone who enjoys your sarcasm rather than someone who repells it.

Flo', don't even bother. It's not worth your time. ;)

I know you get it.

PS00, you might find more enjoyment at:

The Producer Board might be a better fit for you. I encourage you to continue learning and growing, and wish you much success with your music.

on to more important things than how to plug shit up & push play...

Poetsleep00...

(sigh...)
As for "race and unity," (tsk tsk) hiccup a dick up, you toy.

As for the "resident nigga" comment, you should be glad my black ass offered up some assistance instead of trying to flash on your ass like you did me.

If you can't connect two (only 2 and you still hurtin'?) pieces of kit to each other and plug 'em into your standalone recorder (or figure out what to do if you did buy something) , then you oughta leave the "nigga" part at home and be more of a goddamn "resident" yourself.

--->respect yourself and your race and quit tossing words around like they don't carry weight to someone, and act like you got some fucking dignity about yourself. For all the world to see, your stupid black ass is calling another black man that shit in an unmistakenly negative way. If we was unified like you wanna say we should be, then you would have had not only the hindsight, but also the foresight to not use that word - certainly not in a derogatory way on a website with 10s of thousands of readers, not in a world where nuances are lost within keystrokes, and not in a PUBLIC place where you're almost sure to be supporting some bigot's fucked up mentality towards not only me, but you, too, brotha.

Not exactly practicing any racial responsibility are you?

Take that shit to the mountaintop and have a dream or two...

Oh yeah, if you still need help with your rig, then say what it is you're trying to do or have already done & I'll do my best to get you straight if you'll let me...

Flo', you let him push a button! C'mon, we know how this goes.

Just ignore him until he goes away, especially if he starts talking ni**er this and ni**er that (banning will soon follow).

He's been looking for a fight since the first post, so DON'T give it to him!

Wanna hear a joke?

'How do you get PotSlut00 to shut up?'

'Hand him some sheet music.'

Nope...

Nah, it ain't even like that.
I ain't trippin', really, and i have no intention of going on anymore about race, but if dude wants to try and talk like a grownup with sense, he should at least try to act like one, too. A non-black person who uses those kinds of words is one thing, but one black person to another, in front of God & everyone else in the world? Oh man...

Enough with fools who wanna keep setting us all back 200 or so years...

Grandmama always told me not everybody got good hometraining.
